My work encompasses a broad range of interests, and each piece reflects a standalone investigation in and of itself.
It’s been described as Neo-Romantic by some publications, though I more see my work as a devotion to beauty and craft.
I aim to make each piece as sumptuous as possible, just shy of too-much, giving the viewer a visual feast to absorb and become lost within.
From there, each piece is gilded with 23 karat gold, adorning the butterflies, halos, flowers, or other elegant details.
I begin with walnut-ink stained paper working in layers of charcoal to build the image. This creates their sense of sfumato and solidity, despite few clear lines.
