My work encompasses a broad range of interests, and each piece reflects a standalone investigation in and of itself.
It’s been described as Neo-Romantic by some publications, though I more see my work as a devotion to beauty, to craft, with continuous lines of inspiration arising in waves.
I aim to make each piece as sumptuous as possible, just shy of too-much, giving the viewer a visual feast to absorb and become lost within.
From there, each piece then is gilded with 23 karat gold or White gold, adorning the butterflies, halos, flowers, or other elegant details.
I begin with walnut-ink stained paper working in layers of charcoal to build the image. This creates their sense of sfumato and solidity, despite few clear lines.
I was born and raised in Seattle and am now working in Brooklyn, New York. I graduated from Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications Design and Illustration. My solo exhibitions have been held at Corey Helford Gallery and Roq La Rue, along with numerous spots in group shows at the likes of Spoke Art, Modern Eden and Arcadia Contemporary.
